I am working on the layout out for an wishbone-based front suspension for my velo, and I am researching rod ends (thinking to use 3/8 or M10 in Alu). Does anyone know if rod ends come with 'plain' (not ball) bearings, to work as a single-plane swivel? Are such rod ends called some other name? This is for the attachment of the wishbone to the chasis. When I look for 'rod ends' on the net, I only seem to get ones with ball bearings. I can't even seem to find ones without bearings at all, all searches for 'bearing-free' or 'socket' keep returning the same ball-bearing-based ones. Google is still suprisingly lame, AI/neuronal networks my a$$.

Update: apparently, a clevis joint is what I am after, but these seem to come without bearings. I could press in a flanged bearing myself, I guess:

What you appear to want is called a rod end bushing. Google and ye shall receive!

Carolina -- thanks for the 'affirmative' on the rod ends, good to know that they will work for wishbones!
