Glowworm 5 mile am run, Lem/Plath
I launched too slowly, fell over, waited a turn and launched again. While spinning up in each gear then shifting, I derailed off of the last gear on the middrive. I fixed it by shifting up then down again, then looked up to see a Pronghorn antelope 20 m in front on the road. It looked at me then hopped off the road. We got behind in our speed schedule at the start, caught up to the schedule between 4 and 3 mile to go but got behind again with 2 miles to go.

We saw the U of Toronto chase vehicle in the left lane in the distance, thought there was a problem with their bike but didn't immediately catch up with their car meaning they were still rolling, just chasing from the left lane. We caught and passed their car (us in the right lane), saw Vortex ahead, chased it, moved to the left lane while they were in the right, raced them to the 200 m sign.

As we were 3 mph behind schedule and speed wasn't increasing much to the end, I was still pushing hard but not burying myself. There was no catching up to the schedule once we were really behind. We finished, coasted and slowed to the catch area wondering if timing would be totally screwed up by the overlap in the speed trap. It ended up it was a wind-legal run and we missed the 200 m multi-rider 200 m record by 0.03 mph. Ha ha.

I'll let Larry and/or Tom supply the details, but the evening Tom Amick and Phil Plath broke the tandem record with the first run over 70 mph. On Tom's birthday too Gareth Hanks confirmed Completely Overzealous' position as the world's fastest trike with a >69 mph run and Jan-Marcel van Dijken went over 77. All with legal wind.

Congratulations on the new records! Glad to hear Larry Lem didn't hit the pronghorn. You may need to install deer whistles on the underfairing. :-O Sounds like I missed another great film opportunity with the vehicles overlapping in timing.

I took a peak at Sebastian's power schedule when they were working on his bike. AO = all out.
They were actually able to reconfigure the SRM to fit in the K drive.

Mercy!

Warren, on the results page there are some missing qualifying results from Monday morning. My name appeared in the preliminary results but seems it got deleted when you rearranged things.

Thanks,
Greg- Varna Mephisto.
